Officials say that a fight broke out on the platform of the Brookland-CUA Metro Station on Michigan Avenue late in the afternoon on April 4, during which at least one person began shooting.

One teen involved in the fracas was struck and died from his injuries.

Police investigators released a photo of the suspect, who was described as a Black man with light skin, wearing a black jacket, black hoodie, gray square backpack, a mask, light blue jeans, with black and white shoes.

The Brookland Station was temporarily closed for the shooting investigation, with Red Line trains operating in both directions and bypassing that stop.

The shooting is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department.
